Boys Practice - Jan 27th

Thanks for registering your son to play lacrosse this spring. Starting this weekend, we will run weekend practices through February. Our first practice is Sat Jan 27th:

  • 1:30 – 2:30PM – Rental Pickup (8U, 10U, 12U and 14U, not 6U)
  • 2:00 – 3:30PM – Practice for 10U, 12U and 14U

Practice is on the turf at George Mason HS. Rental pickup is located on the far side of the field, close the visitor stands near our storage container. We recognize you may have other commitments this weekend, practice is not mandatory at this stage. No need to RSVP.

We will post the February schedule soon, there will be additional opportunities to pick up rental gear if you cannot make it Saturday.

For example, the 10U means 10-and-under during the entire standard school year (9/1/17 to 8/31/18). Said otherwise, a 10U is not yet 10 years old as of 8/31/2017. Boys that are young or old for their grade will play in their age segment.

Please tell your son which age group they are in, we will divide them up at some point during practice.

Referral Credit

FCYLC is a volunteer run organization that depends on the participation of our families to operate. One way everyone can support the club is by referring new families. This year, we are especially in need of boy players. All referrals are welcome.

To show our appreciation, we are now offering a $25 credit for every new player you refer. To qualify, a new player is one who has not played competitive lacrosse, does not have siblings who played FCYLC, and is signed up for the current spring season.

To get the credit, please complete the Referral Credit registration form in by going to www.fclaxclub.com and selecting Register. The credit is applied to your family account and can be used for any future registration with FCYLC.

Thanks in advance!

PS. The free boy’s clinic is a great opportunity to introduce new boys.

PPS. The late fee takes effect Jan 12th.

Players who want to be considered for the FCYLC “A" level team at 3/4; 5/6 and 78 are required to attend an "A" team ONLY tryout. FCYLC “A” Teams are for the more experienced players that want to compete at a high level against similar competition.  Team practices are two days a week.  A third stick, speed and agility practice is offered at no additional to charge to parents. The weeknight practice schedule is based on coaches' availability and field space.  The practice schedules should be available by Mid-February.

If a player must frequently miss practices or games due to participation in another sport or activity, FCYLC reserves the right to place that player on a different team to free a spot on the “A” team for a player who will participate fully.

 “B” Team Commitment -

Any players that do not qualify for the “A” Teams will be placed on a Upper B (UB) or Lower B (LB) teams based on skill and experience.  Being on a “B” team is still competitive and requires a commitment and dedication to the team and also a commitment to improving as an individual.

The weeknight practice schedule is based on coaches' availability and field space.  The practice schedules should be available by Mid-February.
