Congrats to Claire Hiscott and Amy Roche!

Claire signed her National Letter of Intent to play Division 1 lacrosse at the College of William & Mary yesterday.  Amy signed her National Letter of Intent to play Division 1 lacrosse with Bucknell University.  Both girls got their start with FCYLC and have coached for FCYLC in the past!  Thank you and we wish you the best of luck in all of your future endeavors!

2018 Spring Registration Now Open

Registration is open for the 2018 spring season. To register, go to www.fclaxclub.com and select the REGISTER menu item on the left hand menu. Please share this information with prospective families.

Please read the following important information then follow the instructions to register.

1. Who can participate in Falls Church Youth Lacrosse Club?

The boundaries of FCYLC include all addresses that align with the following public high schools:

  • George Mason HS, Falls Church HS, JEB Stuart HS, Marshall MS, McLean HS, Yorktown HS, Washington & Lee HS

NVYLL will grant waivers in certain cases, please contact FCYLC if you are interested in a waiver.

Click on www.nvyll.org to find the complete list of NVYLL club boundaries.

2. What are the ages/grades of the players?

For boys, players must be 14 & under as of 8/31/2017. Girls must be in grades K thru 8. FCYLC also runs a U7 co-ed clinic for kids who are ages 4-6 and not ready to play competitive lacrosse. Players who are on a varsity/JV high school team are ineligible to play in the NVYLL.  8th graders who play JV lacrosse for their high school are allowed to participate in the NVYLL.

3. How are the teams determined?

Teams are based on age for boys and grade for girls. When we have enough players to form multiple teams, we will hold preseason tryouts and place teams in the A, Upper B, or Lower B divisions.

Boys (Age)

Girls (Grade)

14U: 14 & Under as of 8/31/17

78 – 7th & 8th

12U: 12 & Under as of 8/31/17

56 –5th & 6th

10U: 10 & Under as of 8/31/17

34 – 3rd & 4th

8U: 8 & Under as of 8/31/17

K2 – K, 1st & 2nd

6U Boys Clinic (6 & Under as of 8/31/17)

FCYLC may combine players in a division with those from neighboring NVYLL clubs so that we have enough players to form A, Upper B and Lower B teams to provide an appropriately competitive team for your child. We have a target number of teams at each age level and will waitlist players with the hope of forming an additional team when possible. Please register early to reserve your spot.

4. When does the season start and finish?

Practice and tryouts will start in January for A level teams and mid February for the remaining B level teams, initially on the weekends. We have a limited amount of indoor space on weekdays as well. Starting in March, teams will practice twice a week and play a game/scrimmage on the weekend. Typically, boys play games on Saturday and girls play on Sunday afternoon. The first league game is the weekend of March 24/25th. We will not have games Easter weekend (March 31st) and Memorial Day Weekend (May 26/27th). Playoffs are June 2/3rd and 9/10th. If possible, please consider our game schedule as you plan spring break or other vacations.

5. Rental Equipment?

As noted in the registration form, the club has a limited amount of equipment to rent ($50 boys, $25 girls). We provide rentals to those families who are trying the sport for the first time and not yet committed to the sport to buy the equipment, or who are not able to purchase it. We ask that all other families purchase equipment for your child. Rentals are on a first come, first serve basis.  You are responsible for the timely return of rental equipment. FCYLC reserves the right to charge ($200 for boys and $100 for girls) your account if equipment is damaged or not returned at the end of the season.

6. What are the costs?

The early registration fee is $195 for you first child, and $170 for siblings.  The 6U boys’ clinic is $100 plus $25 to rent equipment.  After 1/12/18, fees increase by $35. Shorts and skorts can be purchased for $35. The equipment rental fee is $50 for boys and $25 for girls. Partial/full scholarships are available for families who need assistance with registration fees.  If interested, please contact the FCYLC via email noted below.

7. Refunds?

If a player withdraws after registering, the parent may request a refund (minus a $25 processing fee) by sending an email to   no later than February 15th, 2018. No refunds after this date unless an injury with written Doctor's note. Refunds will only be processed via credit card.
