Referral Credit

FCYLC is a volunteer run organization that depends on the participation of our families to operate. One way everyone can support the club is by referring new families. This year, we are especially in need of boy players. All referrals are welcome.

To show our appreciation, we are now offering a $25 credit for every new player you refer. To qualify, a new player is one who has not played competitive lacrosse, does not have siblings who played FCYLC, and is signed up for the current spring season.

To get the credit, please complete the Referral Credit registration form in by going to www.fclaxclub.com and selecting Register. The credit is applied to your family account and can be used for any future registration with FCYLC.

Thanks in advance!

PS. The free boy’s clinic is a great opportunity to introduce new boys.

PPS. The late fee takes effect Jan 12th.

Free, Indoor Clinics for Boys

FCYLC wants to grow the boys program and encourage new boys to join our spring program. If you know families who are interested in lacrosse and want to learn more, we are offering a free winter clinic series. Please forward this notice to boys considering playing lacrosse.

The winter clinics will be run by the George Mason HS boy’s coaches and players. The clinics are designed for new or less-experienced players and will focus on fundamental skills development. This is a great opportunity to get one-on-one attention from current varsity players. FCYLC will lend equipment to any boy who needs it.

If your son is considering lacrosse this spring, these clinics are the perfect opportunity to try it out. If your son has played for a year or two, join us as well and consider bringing a friend to give it a try.

The clinics will be held at South Run Rec Center (7550 Reservation Dr, Springfield VA 22153), an indoor field house. You can attend any or all of the following clinics:

  • Jan 14th 3:30-5PM

  • Jan 21st 5-7:00PM

  • Feb 10th 6:30-8PM

Parents, you are welcome to stay. During the clinics, FCYLC representatives will be on hand to brief you on FCYLC, youth lacrosse and to answer any questions you have. We will serve pizza at the end.

To sign up, register for free at http://assn.la/Reg/?r=2:170375 or go to www.fclaxclub.com.

 “A” Team Commitment -

Players who want to be considered for the FCYLC “A" level team at 3/4; 5/6 and 78 are required to attend an "A" team ONLY tryout. FCYLC “A” Teams are for the more experienced players that want to compete at a high level against similar competition.  Team practices are two days a week.  A third stick, speed and agility practice is offered at no additional to charge to parents. The weeknight practice schedule is based on coaches' availability and field space.  The practice schedules should be available by Mid-February.

If a player must frequently miss practices or games due to participation in another sport or activity, FCYLC reserves the right to place that player on a different team to free a spot on the “A” team for a player who will participate fully.

 “B” Team Commitment -

Any players that do not qualify for the “A” Teams will be placed on a Upper B (UB) or Lower B (LB) teams based on skill and experience.  Being on a “B” team is still competitive and requires a commitment and dedication to the team and also a commitment to improving as an individual.

Team practices for “B” Teams are held 2 days per week for all teams during the spring season.   A third stick, speed and agility practice is offered at no additional to charge to parents. The weeknight practice schedule is based on coaches' availability and field space.  The practice schedules should be available by Mid-February.
