FCYLC has opened registrations for its fall programs!

All offseason activities are optional and FCYLC welcomes players of all interest levels.

With that said, players that want to make A teams and Upper B teams need to pick up a stick in the offseason!  Please also keep in mind that is hard to build team chemistry in the spring when players do not participate in any offseason activities.

To register, go to www.fclaxclub.com and select Register on the left hand menu.

This fall, FCYLC offers the following programs:

1) Fall Clinics – BOYS and GIRLS

Fall Clinics

Each fall, FCYLC sponsors clinics to introduce new players and develop experienced players in grades 1 to 9. The Marymount University college players and coaches run the clinics and provide both highest quality instruction and a fun program with a good ratio of coaches to players.  The clinic serves as a fundraiser for the Maryount University men's and women's lacrosse team.

For players considering lacrosse, the Fall Clinic is a great way to prepare for the spring season and get a taste of the game. For experienced players, the Fall Clinic is a great way to keep their skills sharp and to develop their game looking toward the spring season.

We fully support children playing other sports in the fall and realize kids may have conflicts with scheduled games, please attend as many clinics are possible. The Fall Clinic is designed to complement other fall school and sports activities.

BOYS:

FCYLC is teaming up with Artlington Youth Lacrosse and the coaching staff at Marymount University to offer this clinic for beginner to intermediate players who will be U9 - U15 this coming Spring.

New to lacrosse and want to give it a try?  Hoping to sharpen your skills before the spring season?  Then this is the clinic for you.  Let Marymount University's coaches teach you the proper fundamentals right here in Arlington.

Rentals – As noted in the registration form, the club has a limited amount of equipment to rent. We provide rentals to those families who are trying the sport for the first time and not yet committed to the sport to buy the equipment, or families who are not able to purchase it.  Equipment can be picked up before the first clinic at the field.

2) Fall Game Only League – BOYS and GIRLS

FCYLC will register teams in the McLean game only league for experienced players (at least one year), girls in grades 1-8 and boys U9, U11, and U13 (as of 8/31/2015). The fee is $125 for 8 games.

The format is outdoor box lacrosse. The format emphasizes more continual play and improved stick skills by working in tighter spaces, it’s really popular with the kids.

Games will be played at McLean HS on Saturday and Sundays. Team notification and game schedules will be announced by September 1st. League play starts Sept 17th-18th and continues 6 weekends till Oct 29th-30th weekend, skipping Columbus Day Weekend, Oct 8th-9th.

We will register one team and each level and start a waitlist afterwards. The game format is 6 v 6, so we intend to cap roster size.  If we have enough players and coaches for a second team, we will add that team as appropriate.

Clinic Add On

We encourage our returning players to play box and particpate in the clinic so that they work on their skills and get game experience.  Players can particpate in both by registering box and "adding on" the clinic for just $50.

Again, we fully support children playing other sports in the fall and realize kids may have conflicts with scheduled games and the clinic, please attend as many clinics are possible.

3) FCYLC TOURNAMENTS

Registration instructions coming soon!

Pumpkin Shootout (Girls Only)

3rd Annual Great Pumpkin Shootout

October 22, 2016

Morven Park - Leesburg, VA

Girls Grades 1-9 are invited to play!  It is a one day tournament.  We will have all age groups for the girls at the tournament.   We will bring a tent and have a snack table and fun activities for the girls.  Games usually start by 8am and most teams are finished by 2pm.

Games will feature a 9 v 9 format. Each team is guaranteed four running 25 minute games.  Last year close to 30 teams competed on a beautiful day for the second annual Great Pumpkin Shootout and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Our 3rd/4th grade girls won their age bracket.

All registered players will receive a tournament t-shirt (this is the shirt they will play in) and be invited to participate in a free skills clinic run by current High School coaches and players.

American Kidney Fall Classic – (Boys only)

This is a fundraiser tournament for kidney disease research.  The tournament’s organizer just recently lost his brother to kidney failure.
